Hello,

Another one bites the dust. (microkeratome and excimer laser, Oct 14, 2014)

Carelessly evaluated, misinformed, deviant marketing and "sales" tactics.

[redacted]

This industry knows exactly what they are doing. There is active suppression of the facts.

My poor outcome is stretching my mind to its very limits. I contemplate suicide.

The unrealistic expectations advertised by the clinics combined with the atrociously poor outcomes on the physical (dry eye, halos etc.) and psychological level that are occurring and having not been properly communicated is a lethal combination.

As per the Morris Waxler petition that I believe is still gathering signatures, there absolutely does need to be at the very least a public health advisory issued. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/support-petition-to-withdraw-lasik-approval/

Or in my mind a black box warning like on a cigarette pack. Or that quickly spoken disclaimer at the end of pill commercial that appears on television.

Just something to alert the public that refractive surgery is a HUGE risk and that one should be doing their research meticulously and still know that so much can go wrong. There is an enormous gap between what we expect to happen/what we're told will happen compared to what actually can happen/likely will happen.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Dan D.
